Emergency Hormonal Contraception (the morning-after pill)

If you have had unprotected sex or your contraceptive method has failed there is a chance that you could become pregnant. Before you do get pregnant, this can usually be prevented by using an emergency version of the contraceptive pill – often called the ‘morning after pill’. There are different types of emergency contraception and it is most effective taken as soon as possible; we can advise on which emergency contraception best suits you in your circumstances – in most cases we can supply this tablet free of charge via an NHS service.

Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile Dysfunction can affect men at any age although it is generally more common in older men. It is estimated that half of men aged between 40 and 70 experience erectile dysfunction to some degree. There are many different causes of erectile dysfunction, some are physical while some are psychological. Certain medical conditions can also cause erectile dysfunction, for example heart disease and diabetes.
Erectile dysfunction can often be treated without having to make an appointment with the GP and so at Carnforth Pharmacy we offer a confidential environment to provide the expert advice and treatment you need. We can help identify the possible cause and look at treatment options, if necessary supplying treatments such as sildenafil (also known as Viagra) or alternatives as part of the consultation. Consultations are conducted in our private room within the pharmacy with our specially trained pharmacist and are strictly confidential.
