What did you all get up to during February half term?

At the pharmacy we had the pleasure of working with Isabelle, a 6th Form Student from
Lancaster Girls’ Grammar School.

Isabelle is currently studying chemistry, maths and music A-level and would like to become a pharmacist in the future.

Isabelle approached Carnforth Pharmacy for this opportunity because she wanted to get an insight into what a typical pharmacist day looks like and because she felt that Ben and the staff at the pharmacy were very welcoming and keen to show her the pharmacy processes.

Isabelle says, “I’ve enjoyed learning all about what goes on in a pharmacy and what a pharmacist specifically does.”

Even though Isabelle couldn’t take part in the pharmacist responsibilities, she was able to shadow Ben and the pharmacy staff as well as serve customers in the shop. This has given Isabelle the insights and solidified in her mind that she would like to study pharmacy at university.

Ben says, “We’ve really enjoyed having Isabelle for the week. She is a lovely girl and was always very keen and eager to learn about the roles and responsibilities within the pharmacy.
If I can help even just one person in deciding whether pharmacy is for them or not, then I believe that is a great help in a young persons life regarding their career choice.”
